Bathrooms4U recently had the pleasure of renovating the bathrooms of the much loved Tankard Bar and Restaurant in Fenit, County Kerry.
A family-owned business run by brothers Adrian and Enda O’Sullivan, they contacted Bathrooms4U with their plans for a major upgrading of the property.
As a 47 years old building, the bathrooms has not been touched in over 23 years, meaning a complete overhaul was needed.
Adrian found B4U through word of mouth and the reputation and we were happy to oblige. Our sales team initially made the journey to Fenit to evaluate the space and give an estimation quote on the work to be completed.
Efficiency was of the utmost importance when it came to this project, as the bar and restaurant must close to complete the work. Our team were conscious of the time restraints and worked tirelessly to complete the renovation.
The full scope included three bathrooms, including a gents, a ladies, and a mobility bathroom.
As soon as the floor protection was implemented, the team got cracking straight away on ripping out the old toilets and sinks and removing the tiling. From initial stripping to the final day of completion, the entire project took under two weeks to finish.
One issue that stood out for the Tankard management team was the hygiene in the men’s bathrooms, a problem they were eager to tackle. With the help of B4U, this was solved with the addition of a seamless sloping drain on the floor. This drain was also fully tiled to camouflage in with the ground.
The ladies bathroom was a case of modernising the space through block colours and contemporary features. The mobility bathroom was refurbished to the very best standards of fit and finish, adapting to make bathroom use much easier for those with limited mobility.
